According to Proceso, the capo’s son belongs to the Guadalajara Jockey Club and participates in circuits organized by the Equestrian Association of Jalisco. He has represented the Mexican sports delegation in various events, such as the 2008 Olympics.

Caro Helenes was registered with the Mexican Equestrian Federation and participated in national and international competitions. He also participated in the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games, held in Colombia, where he won the gold for team show jumping.

The son of the «Narco de Narcos» also managed to win the bronze medal in individual show jumping at that event. He rode his beloved horse O’Karla. Caro Helenes’ ability with horses led to him representing Mexico in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. However, there are no records of his participation because he attended as a substitute, according to ABC News.

The capo’s son was also crowned the winner of the Jalisco Equestrian School Classic in 2010. This circuit is held in commemoration of the club’s founder, Colonel Vicente Mendoza, where his talent and perseverance were demonstrated.

In 2013, the name of Rafel Caro Helenes, as well as that of his brothers and his mother, appeared on a list published by the DEA, for being involved in his father’s illicit activities. So they were targeted by the authorities.

The Quintero family appeared on the list released by the Treasury Department, where personalities such as the singer-songwriter Julian Alvarez and the former soccer player Rafael Marquez also appear — although for different reasons.

Rafael Caro Quintero’s son was born on December 18, 1975 and is currently 46 years old. Throughout his life he has excelled as an equestrian. Little is known about the rest of his life, since he has kept a low profile to avoid being located, according to Milenio.

The drug dealer’s first wife was María Elizabeth Elenes Lerma, with whom he had four children: Héctor Rafael, Roxana Elizabeth, Henoch Emilio, and Mario Yibrán. They were all born in Culiacán, Sinaloa, except for Mario who was born and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
