A bus accident on Interstate 20 in Warren County, Mississippi, resulted in seven fatalities and about thirty injuries.

Authorities have confirmed that the deceased are of Mexican origin. The accident occurred on Saturday when a tire failure caused the bus to overturn.

The bus, a 2018 Volvo traveling from Atlanta to Dallas, was carrying 41 passengers, along with a driver and a co-driver.

According to Todd Inman, an official with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the accident happened after the left front tire failed. The bus then overturned onto its left side shortly after the malfunction.

Preliminary results of the investigation are expected in about 30 days.

The bus operator, Autobuses Regiomontanos, has 20 years of experience in cross-border transportation between Mexico and the United States.

Their website claims that their fleet receives daily maintenance and offers special rates for workers.

In the accident, six people were pronounced dead at the scene, and one more died at the hospital.

Of the 37 injured, some are receiving care in various hospitals.
