On the governor’s X account, it reads:
As Georgians recover from Hurricane Helene, with the support of our legislative partners, I have suspended the gasoline tax for the duration of this state of emergency.

The tax suspension is essential for storm recovery and response.
The gasoline tax exemption will begin on Thursday, October 3.
It will remain in effect until the end of the state emergency, extended until October 9.
