This was detailed by White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre in a statement.

«President Biden and President López Obrador will also discuss how we can continue to work together as partners to manage migration,» the statement adds.

López Obrador revealed that he will talk to Biden during the APEC summit about the urgent need for an aid plan for Latin America, according to EFE.

AMLO is seeking the aid plan with the aim of addressing the regional migration phenomenon, according to the news agency.

The Mexican president, who is on tour in the northern state of Sonora, bordering the United States, reiterated that this would help the people of that region.

Furthermore, he stated that people «do not abandon their towns out of pleasure, but out of necessity.»

Specifically, López Obrador will bring to Biden the proposal reached after the migration summit that Mexico hosted on October 22 with various countries.

Those countries included: Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, Panama and Venezuela.

This summit concluded with a rejection of «coercive measures» and the request for more legal alternatives for migration, according to EFE.

In the last year, the Biden administration has launched a humanitarian permit program for Venezuelan, Haitian, Cuban and Nicaraguan migrants.

At the same time they are increasing the consequences for those who cross the border irregularly, according to EFE.

This will be the fourth bilateral Biden and AMLO meeting.

The two leaders met in 2021 and 2022 in Washington, and last January in Mexico City, according to EFE.

The news comes shortly after Trump revealed his plans if he returns to the White House next year.

Much of the 2024 presidential campaign has been dominated by the countless investigations into the former president and the subsequent charges against him.

With less than a year to go until Election Day, Trump is still dominating the race for the Republican nomination and has already revealed his intentions if he returns to office.

His ideas, and even the issues he focuses on most, are completely different from President Joe Biden’s policies.

Trump has threatened to drastically re-shape the government in ways some say are a threat to democracy.

His plans include: a mass deportation operation, a new travel ban on Muslim countries and “freedom cities” built on federal land.

Some of his current ideas would also likely end up in court or be stopped by Congress, according to The Associated Press.
