Barack Obama is halfway to an EGOT. The former president won an Emmy Award on Saturday to accompany his two Grammys. He nabbed the Emmy for outstanding narration for his work on the Netflix documentary series Our Great National Parks, according to the Hollywood Reporter and the AP.
The five-part program, which includes national parks from around the world, is produced by Barack and Michelle’s production company, Higher Ground. The former president was the highlight of a category full of household names at the Creative Arts Emmy gala, in which Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, David Attenborough and Lupita Nyong’o were nominated.
OBAMA MAKES HISTORY

Obama is the second former president to win an Emmy. Dwight D. Eisenhower took home a Special Emmy in 1956. He had also already won two Grammys for reading the audiobooks of two of his autobiographies, The Audacity of Hope and A Promised Land. Michelle Obama won her own Grammy for reading her audiobook in 2020.
EGOT is a special category of artists who have won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony. So far 17 people have done it. The late Chadwick Boseman also won an Emmy for his work as a voice actor on Saturday. The Black Panther actor was also recognized for outstanding voice work for the Disney+ and Marvel Studios animated series What If…?.
