Barack Obama breaks silence after attack on Donald Trump

Obama, Trump’s immediate predecessor in the White House, shared his thoughts after the shooting of the Republican and wrote on social media:
«There is no place for political violence in our democracy,» he said on X (formerly Twitter), expressing his feelings about the events.

«While we still don’t know exactly what happened, we should all be relieved that former President Trump was not seriously injured.»
«And we take this moment to renew our commitment to civility and respect in our politics. Michelle and I wish him a speedy recovery.»
What happened to Trump?
Trump was giving a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, when he had to evacuate the podium after being attacked, EFE reported.
The FBI investigates such attacks with the assistance of the Secret Service, which is responsible for the security of the president, former presidents and presidential candidates.
Trump had been there for just ten minutes when a bullet hit him in the ear and the Secret Service evacuated him with blood on part of his face.
Republican spokesman Steven Cheung said in a statement that «he is doing well and is being treated at a local medical facility.»
