Bad Bunny and Gael García Bernal star in 'Cassandro'

Bad Bunny and Gael García Bernal are starring in the hotly anticipated new gay romance, Cassandro.

The new Prime Video biopic tells the story of Saúl Armendáriz, a famous wrestler from Texas.

Bernal plays the lead, Cassandro ‘El Exótico’ and Bad Bunny will make a special appearance in the film.

The movie will be available to stream on September 22.

Cassandro, which will be available on Prime Video, stars Mexican actor Gael García Bernal as the title character.

The biopic’s story centers on Saúl Armendáriz, a gay amateur wrestler from El Paso, Texas.

Armendáriz rose to international stardom after creating the Cassandro character in lucha libre.

The film is based on a true story and was directed by Roger Ross Williams, winner of an Academy Award in 2009.

We will see how Armendáriz navigated being openly gay in an industry ruled by machismo.

Cassandro represents an Exótico, a wrestler who performs in drag and uses camp to challenge machismo stereotypes in wrestling.

Actors Roberta Colindrez, Perla De La Rosa, Joaquín Cosío and Raúl Castillo also appear in the film.

Bad Bunny will make a special appearance in Cassandro, where he shares scenes with Gael García Bernal.

So far there are few details about the Puerto Rican rapper’s character.

The official trailer shows several scenes with Bad Bunny and Gael García Bernal, suggesting they may have a romance.

New to acting, Bad Bunny committed to his role, including kissing a man on screen.
