The fans were worried, since before the game there was the possibility that Mexico would not qualify directly. The playoff could have been possible if the Aztecs had lost this game. Combined with a win for Costa Rica, they would force it to go on goal difference.

It is worth mentioning that New Zealand is already waiting for a rival for the playoffs. Something similar happened in 2013, when Miguel Herrera took them to the World Cup in Brazil beating the same team. At that time Oribe Peralta stood out with his goals helping his team claim the victory. Filed Under: Mexico vs. El Salvador

Comments on the new uniform included: “Who knows who was the graphic designer who thought of the current bold design? And worse… someone approved that as the uniform.» “It doesn’t look bad, but I just can’t stand that new shield. That shield seems very ugly to me.”
“Of course I like it, I love it, they should never put aside the national colors. It’s a shame that all this time they are playing in black with pink or all white, when the green, white and red represents us as Mexicans.” “What I don’t like it is the shield,” were some comments.
