In a joint operation, Mexican authorities arrested Kevin Alonso ‘N’, also known as ‘El 200’, who has been identified as the security chief of Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar, better known as ‘El Chapito’.
The operation also led to the capture of two other suspected members of the Sinaloa Cartel, marking a significant blow to the criminal organization’s infrastructure.
In a statement, the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), the Secretary of the Navy (Semar), the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSPC), and the National Guard (GN) confirmed that Kevin Alonso was apprehended in Sinaloa while in possession of firearms reserved exclusively for the Mexican Armed Forces.

According to SSPC sources, Kevin Alonso managed the acquisition of weapons and ammunition for the cartel’s criminal cells. He was also responsible for organizing reaction forces to confront rival groups and law enforcement.
Additionally, Alonso was in charge of extortion operations and homicides on behalf of the criminal organization and coordinated counterintelligence strategies to shield the cartel’s leaders.
This arrest comes amid escalating violence in Sinaloa, particularly in Culiacán, where clashes between rival factions of ‘Los Chapitos’ and ‘Los Mayos’ have resulted in over 800 homicides since September 2024.
The surge in violence intensified following the U.S. arrest of Ismael ‘El Mayo’ Zambada, co-founder of the Sinaloa Cartel.
