A horrifying case just days before Christmas.
On the morning of Sunday, December 22, a Guatemalan immigrant was arrested in New York.
The reason? He is accused of setting a woman on fire while she was sleeping inside a Coney Island F train.
A civilian identified the man while traveling on a train near 34th Street in Manhattan, according to police sources.
No Charges Filed Yet Against Arrested Guatemalan Immigrant
According to the New York Post, the witness signaled the police, who then apprehended the Guatemalan immigrant.
Sources state that, as of now, no formal charges have been filed against him.

It was reported that the suspect entered the U.S. and was detained by Border Patrol agents in Arizona in June 2018.
No prior criminal record was found against him in New York City.
The Guatemalan immigrant allegedly set the woman on fire around 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 22.
He then watched her burn until she died. The incident is simply terrifying.
Police briefly spoke with the suspect but told him to clear the area.
It is believed that the suspect was seated across from the victim, who, as mentioned, was asleep.

Afterward, the Guatemalan immigrant reportedly stood up, approached the victim, and lit a match, setting her on fire.
Police extinguished the flames, but emergency medical services pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
Several liquor bottles were found around her, though it remains unclear if they contributed to the fire.
Finally, witnesses interviewed expressed their shock and horror.
