Angélica Rivera was spotted at the Mexico City airport after spending a family weekend celebrating her daughter Sofía Castro’s wedding.

The actress, who is set to return to television in a new series, gave an interview sharing details about her daughter’s nuptials but ended up visibly upset.

According to Rivera, ‘La Gaviota’ was overjoyed to see her daughter, Sofía Castro, tie the knot: «It was beautiful; she was very happy. She found a wonderful man.»

She continued: «…Pablo found a wonderful girl. It was such a magical moment. She chose the song, she chose her dad and brothers. It was a very beautiful moment.»

The actress was deeply moved by the joyous occasion: «A wedding and giving your children away is always something so beautiful. It’s about them starting a new life.»

However, things took a turn when Angélica Rivera became angry over a reporter’s comment. The reporter mentioned that social media users claimed Rivera had outshone her daughter with her beauty during the wedding.

Angélica Rivera responded firmly and visibly annoyed: «Don’t say that, don’t say that,» she began emphatically.

«A mother never, never, never… Don’t use such negative words to attack,» she asserted, silencing the reporter.

Criticism on Social Media

Following Angélica Rivera’s explosive reaction, online users attacked her in the comments section of El Gordo y la Flaca’s Instagram post. «Why is she covering herself so much? Doesn’t want to be recognized?» «Did she already spend all the money she stole as First Lady?»

Other harsh comments included: «What a shame people still ask her for photos.» «I don’t like her or her daughters.» «She’s probably still hungover.» «All those luxuries were paid for by Mexicans.» «She should return the money to Mexico.»

The actress will make her comeback to television after 17 years in the series Con la Misma Mirada, a remake of the hit show Mirada de Mujer.
