A chilling crime has shaken the border between the United States and Mexico.
An American man, identified as 47-year-old Jorge Marez Raygoza, has been accused of murdering his wife and crossing into Mexico with her corpse.
According to journalist Reynaldo Lara, Marez drove from El Paso, Texas, to Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, with his wife’s body hidden in the trunk of his vehicle.
The victim was identified as Coral Cifuentes. Her body was found days later near the Periférico Camino Real, at the foot of the Sierra de Juárez.

Alarmingly, the suspect managed to cross the border undetected by both the National Guard and border authorities.
After dumping the body in Mexican territory, Marez returned to the United States as if nothing had happened.

Authorities in Mexico found Coral’s body hours later on March 22.
Three weeks after the discovery, Jorge Marez was arrested in El Paso, Texas, following progress in the investigation and forensic evidence.

During forensic procedures, the victim’s identity was confirmed, along with her direct relationship to the accused, according to El Heraldo de México.
So far, no motive behind the femicide has been publicly disclosed, but authorities continue their investigation.
Jorge Marez is currently in custody in El Paso, awaiting trial that will determine his legal fate.
This case has drawn significant attention in both Mexican and American media due to the gravity of the crime and the alarming ease with which the suspect crossed the border while transporting a corpse.
