Alden Fernandez was shot to death outside a bar in Kentucky and authorities have no idea why he was attacked or who the shooters are. The Louisville Metropolitan Police Department (LMPD) is currently investigating the murder of 21-year-old Alden Fernández, originally from Camagüey, Cuba.

Haris Boskailo, 32, was also killed in the attack on Alden Fernández. As of now, Detectives for the Homicide Division of the LMPD do not know for sure if the two young men had any relationship with each other before they were murdered.

According to crime report made by the LMPD on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 11:00 p.m., several people were gathered outside the Hoops Grill & Sports Bar at 6733 Strawberry Lane, in the southeast part of the Louisville metropolitan area.

The Hoops Grill & Sports Bar is a very popular spot in Louisville to watch sports and has several outside tables that many patrons take advantage of on warm spring and summer afternoons and evenings. The day of the crime the restaurant was packed.

The brutal shooting outside the Hoops Grill & Sports Bar

LMPD emergency operators received multiple calls from patrons of the Hoops Grill & Sports Bar reporting a brutal shooting in the parking lot outside the business. Several patrol cars were sent to the popular bar to investigate the emergency.

When LMPD officers arrived on scene they found one of the victims sitting in a car and the other lying on the ground in the parking lot. Alden Fernández and Haris Boskailo were already dead when the police arrived. Authorities did not reveal who was in the car and who was on the ground.

The killers arrived at the scene in another car

At the time of the attack, the Hoops Grill & Sports Bar was packed with customers. Detectives from the LMPD Homicide Division were able to gather details about the murders of Alden Fernández and Haris Boskailo. The relationship between the two is still a mystery.

According to people who spoke with the LMPD, in the middle of the night a car with at least two people inside pulled up to the Hoops Grill & Sports Bar. One of the occupants of the car got out with a gun in his hand and walked towards another vehicle.

The shooting happened in less than 20 seconds

The armed person opened the door of the other car and fired several shots at the driver who was unable to take cover. The other young man tried to run from the attack but didn’t get far. A person got out of the newly arrived car and fired several shots at him as he ran.

Detectives from the Homicide Division of the LMPD recovered the videos from the security cameras at the Hoops Grill & Sports Bar to see how the shooting of Alden Fernández and Haris Boskailo took place. The crime occurred in less than 20 seconds according to police.

The murderers collected the casings after the crime

In the videos of the brutal murders of Alden Fernández and Haris Boskailo, detectives from the LMPD Homicide Division observed an unusual detail. The two shooters collected all the shell casings that were lying on the ground before driving away.

According to a police source who spoke with MundoHispanico on the condition of anonymity due to his role as a law enforcement officer, only professional killers go to the trouble of collecting shell casings from the scene of their crimes so as not to leave evidence behind.
