Six Russian climbers died after falling from a height of more than 13,000 feet while they were on a Eurasian volcano. The tragedy has shocked not only the sports community but the general public. The volcano is located in the Far East of Russia, according to Daily Mail.
So far, authorities report that on the 15,884-foot Klyuchevskaya Sopka volcano, in the Russian region of Kamchatka, there are at least six other climbers who have been stranded or trapped for days due to bad weather.
HOW DID THE TRAGEDY OCCUR?
Apparently there was an accident and four of them died instantly after falling from a height of 3,000 feet, while the other two died moments later. The reports so far are brief and the identity of the deceased is unknown, as well as that of the people who are stranded.
Official sources from the Kamchatka region prosecutor’s office point out that the mishap occurred about 1,600 feet before reaching the top, when suddenly, for reasons that are still unknown, they fell. The authorities have already started the search for the other people and it was reported on the news that climbers died in a volcano in Eurasia.
WHAT ABOUT THE SURVIVORS?
According to the Daily Mail, preliminary reports indicate that at least two of the climbers in the group of twelve are sheltering in a camp at 10,827 feet above sea level, with another four in a tent at 13,000 feet, so authorities are confident that they are in good health. But there is bad news….
It has also been said that one of the climbers broke his leg. A man fell to his death from a peak in the Austrian Alps while trying to take a photo of his partner after they reached the top, police said Tuesday. The rescue services were alerted by a witness who was on the summit at the same time. This was a few weeks ago and the incident shocked the public.

HOW DID HE FALL?
He was taking a photo of his partner, a 63-year-old Spanish woman, next to the cross that marks the summit. He took a step back and fell, police added in a news release. The news shook the public, since these types of accidents are not very common.
