Good news for thousands of Americans who could be eligible for $4,000 COVID relief checks. However, not everyone will be eligible to obtain this benefit, so it is important to find out what the requirements are, according to The Sun.

Notably, the relief check is available thanks to the nonprofit Jewish Family Service, which has launched the Recovery Action Fund for Tomorrow (RAFT) for low-income residents of San Diego, California.

In order to receive the aid, family income requirements must be met. Families must earn less than 200 percent of the federal poverty level in order to qualify for the $4,000 check.

This is $30,000 per year for single-person households and $60,000 for a family of at least four. Families eligible for RAFT are those with children under 18 years of age, seniors 55 years of age or older, and disabled adults.

San Diego isn’t the only place offering financial aid to residents. Alaska, in just a couple of days, will send dividend payments from the Permanent Fund. They are between $1,114 and $3,284, depending on the year from which money is owed to residents.

Those checks are scheduled to go out May 18. Georgia has also announced an income tax rebate of up to $500, so keep an eye out for that.
