A new recall worries consumers in the United States. Authorities have ordered the recall of two tons of Creminelli Fine Meats mini parmesan salami sticks as the product contains an egg protein known to cause allergies, according to BGR.

The company recently announced a recall of two tons of its product and later, the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) published the Press release.

The Creminelli Company is recalling 4,207 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) parmesan salami sticks. Inspection personnel discovered the error during a routine tag check. The product contains egg white lysozyme, an ingredient found in some cheeses, that is not listed on the label. That protein can cause reactions in people who are allergic to eggs.
