MORE AND MORE HEAT. Weather experts in the United States warn of potentially dangerous weather conditions that could occur for summer 2022 so people will have to take the necessary precautions and prepare to face hotter-than-normal temperatures.

The National Weather Service (NWS) published its forecast for this summer and many states could be seriously affected. According to the NWS, the weather for the next few weeks bears a «striking resemblance» to the summer of 2011, which was the hottest on record in some parts of the country.

July is typically the hottest month of the year in the United States, but officials expect even higher-than-normal temperatures to hit much of the country this year. The maps with forecasts published by the NWS reveal that it will really be very hot!

But that will not be all. Experts say that, in addition to high temperatures, this summer will be drier than usual. In other words, less rain could wind up contributing to a warmer climate.

The NWS published a Map which reveals the chances of rain for the months of July, August and September. The entire Midwest, the Ohio Valley east to the Appalachian Mountains, much of the state of Texas, parts of Alaska and Hawaii, and states like Florida and California could see less precipitation than usual.

Although according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, other regions, such as the center of the country, could have to deal with hot and rainy weather at the same time, even with above-average rainfall. SEE FARMER’S ALMANAC WEATHER HERE

Why is this summer similar to 2011?

The NWS said that this summer in the United States could resemble 2011, which was unusually hot due to the influence of the La Niña phenomenon. Indeed, this year La Niña stayed constant during the cold season, which limited rainfall and caused greater droughts.

This same situation was experienced in 2011, the year in which the hottest summer was recorded in the state of Texas, for example. Even so, experts do not believe that temperatures will break records this time, but they do anticipate that they will remain above average, explained The Sun.

In short, «The long-term outlook for this summer favors temperatures above normal and precipitation below normal,» the NWS detailed on its website. “Summer is a dry season between the rainy seasons of spring and autumn, but this summer looks drier than usual.

Now that you know you’ll have to deal with a hotter and drier summer than usual, it’s important to take the proper precautions: Limit your exposure to the sun, use sunscreen, stay constantly hydrated, wear cool clothes, keep your home or office well ventilated. Also pay attention to pets, who, like people, suffer in extremely hot weather.
