According to statistics, about 4.8 million children under the age of 18 have allergies and, although the most common are related to food, there are other substances that can cause allergies in children.

Every day, children are exposed to various products such as clothing and medicines, food or drinks that may contain traces of allergenic substances capable of producing mild to moderate reactions at any given time. Here are four of the most common causes of allergies in children!

One reason pediatricians and allergists recommend avoiding soy products for your child’s first year is because its protein content may be harmful to some children and can cause an allergic reaction, especially when consumed in large quantities.

After one year of age, it is recommended to include small amounts of soy in some foods and drinks while keeping an eye out for symptoms such as cough, vomiting, nausea, itching, inflammation or breathing problems after it’s ingested. This can help you avoid digestive issues as well as more serious health conditions that require immediate medical attention.

If these occur hours or days after taking the antibiotic, then the symptoms are likely due to underlying conditions, such as an infection.
