“Share Our Strength is a nonprofit organization focused on ending poverty and hunger in the United States and abroad. So that is why it is so important for us to talk and reach more Hispanic families about this opportunity that exists right now for the Child Tax Credit.”

“Because we know that this stimulus had a very positive impact that helped reduce child poverty by a third last year. So we know that there is an opportunity for families to secede to this benefit and can have relief in their household economies.»

In this interview, Cecibel Henríquez spoke in more detail about this important topic to ensure that the Latino community does not miss this opportunity to receive the Child Tax Credit that can help them cover basic needs such as food, child care and transportation.

“The 2021 Enhanced Tax Credit has expired, however families still have a small but essential window to actively apply for this. So this can bring about $3,000 per child in financial relief to all families. Although it was temporarily improved, they still have that window for families to access this 2021 Credit. As long as they file taxes this year, they have this opportunity to do so until November 15 of this year.”

“It is $3,000 dollars per child and it is also important that this credit was temporarily extended in 2021, it gives us a great opportunity. Because then immigrant families with children under the age of 17 who have valid social security will be able to access it for the first time. It also applies to those families who have a personal identification number.»

“This is throughout the country, it is at the national level and the interesting thing is that, for the first time, this benefit is now accessible to the majority of families in this country, even families who previously did not declare or have not declared taxes because their resources were very low or even had no resources to file.”

“So today for the first time these families have been able to access this aid, unfortunately it is a temporary aid, but it is there. So we want to reach all Spanish-speaking Latino households who know that this benefit is still in effect retroactively until November 15.» Filed Under: Cecibel Henriquez Child Tax Credit

“It arrives in the form of a check and if you have a bank account it can also arrive directly to your account — in both ways. Everyone can choose their preference, either by transfer or by mail. The requirements are first to file taxes, submit a tax return for the year 2021, you file with your social security number.
