US President Joe Biden breaks his silence after testing positive for Covid-19. The news about the 79-year-old president’s health has caused a stir, but the Democrat has sent a message to calm concerns.

On Wednesday, after it became known that he had tested positive for Covid-19, Biden appeared on social media to make it clear that, although he was infected with coronavirus, he is «very well» and that he continues to work for the country and follow the recommendations of his doctors.

The president stated that he felt quite well, although he had had to cancel several scheduled commitments. “Folks, I’m doing great. Thanks for your concern. Just called Senator Casey, Congressman Cartwright, and Mayor Cognetti (and my Scranton cousins!) to send my regrets for missing our event today,” he tweeted.

In addition, he stated that he continues to «stay busy!» This confirms the initial report from the White House in which they said that the 79-year-old president is well and that, for now, he only has «mild symptoms» of the disease.

To show that everything is going «well» despite contracting Covid, the president posted a photograph in which he is at his desk, wearing his usual dapper suit and smiling as he attends to some presidential business from a secluded White House office.

“President Biden is fully vaccinated, twice boosted, and experiencing mild symptoms following a positive COVID-19 test,” reported the White House on Thursday morning. In addition, they have already taken the appropriate precautionary measures.

White House spokeswoman, Karine Jean-Pierre, reported that Biden has already started treatment with the oral antiretroviral drug Paxlovid and that he will remain isolated in the White House for the next few days. The president has kept in touch with members of his team by phone.

The president was scheduled to travel to Pennsylvania today as he was due to visit Wilkes University, where he would deliver a speech on measures his administration plans to implement to reduce gun violence. For now, due to health security measures, the president will continue to participate in telephone meetings and videoconferences from his residence.

Per White House protocol, Biden will remain in isolation until tests for Covid-19 come back negative. Once the result is negative, then he will be able to resume his commitments in person. The White House also promised to provide information on the president’s health on a daily basis.

The president had tested negative in the last test that had been carried out on Tuesday. In light of this situation, the White House medical team is working to warn people with whom the president has had recent contact, which include some members of Congress and the media. First lady Jill Biden tested negative and has already spoken about her husband’s situation. SEE HER STATEMENTS HERE
