  • There was a sickle across her neck to keep her from coming back from the dead.
  • “Other ways to protect against the return of the dead include cutting off the head or legs.”

Vampire remains discovered in Poland. Many doubt the existence of mythological monsters such as vampires, werewolves and mummies. However, over the years, certain discoveries have been made that cast doubt on some people’s beliefs.

In Poland, a group of archaeologists have made a strange discovery. They claim to have found the remains of a supposed ‘vampire’ in a 17th century cemetery. However, what was most surprising was what they found on her neck.

According to the Daily Mail, the remains of the ‘vampire woman’ were buried in Poland and the experts found a sickle across her throat. According to the archeologists’ theories, this was done to prevent the creature from coming back from the dead.

Professor Dariusz Poliński made the incredible discovery, together with a team of researchers from the Nicolaus Copernicus University who were carrying out the excavation. They discovered the skeletal remains of the woman who had been pinned to the ground with a sickle across the creature’s neck.

It is worth mentioning that the remains of the alleged monster were located in a 17th century cemetery in the town of Pien. The skeleton had a silk cap on its head which, according to experts, shows that she had a high social status. There was also a protruding tooth.

Professor Dariusz Poliński said: «Ways to protect against the return of the dead include cutting off the head or legs, placing the deceased face down to bite into the ground, burning them, and smashing them with a stone.» Filed Under: Vampire woman remains discovered

He explained the reason the sickle was across her neck: “The sickle was not laid flat but placed on the neck in such a way that if the deceased had tried to get up most likely the head would have been cut off or injured.”

He even stated that there are other ways to prevent vampires returning from the dead: “Ways to protect against the return of the dead include cutting off the head or legs, placing the deceased face down to bite into the ground, burning them, and smashing them with a stone.” Filed Under: Vampire woman remains discovered

This is not the first time such a discovery has been made. According to the New York Post, about seven years ago, the remains of five other supposed vampires were found. This occurred in the city of Drawsko, 130 miles away from this latest discovery.

Like this last find, the skeletons of the other supposed vampires had been buried with sickles across their necks. In 2013, some archaeologists said they discovered a «vampire tomb» on the outskirts of the city of Gliwice. There were several skeletons with their heads cut off.
