“She was so supportive with anything she could do to help with my charity @racetoerasems and more recently @cureaddictionnow and would always say yes when she knew she could contribute something with her time, talent and creative genius to help find a cure for MS. My heart is broken,» Davis concluded.

What happened?

On the morning of August 5, Heche crashed her car into a house in a West Los Angeles neighborhood causing a fire to break out, The Associated Press reported. The woman who lived in the house suffered minor injuries while Heche was trapped in her vehicle for over an hour.

Earlier Thursday, police said they were investigating Heche for driving under the influence of alcohol. Detectives with a search warrant took a blood sample and found narcotics in her system, LAPD spokesman Jeff Lee said, according to The Associated Press.
